Mommy n Me Guidelines

“Mommy N Me” Ballet Tap Class Guidelines

To have an enjoyable and productive class, please follow and abide by these guidelines.

  • Please be prepared for class. Think ahead and have your child take her/his nap before class. We want to avoid meltdowns during class.
  • Be on time. Arrive early if you can to get them prepared for class.
  • No food or drinks are allowed during class time. Please refrain from snacks as well. Make sure your child eats BEFORE or AFTER class, not during.
  • Dress Attire:
    • Girls: Pink Leotard, Pink Tights, Pink Leather or Canvas Ballet Slippers, Black Tap Shoes. Hair must be tied back neatly in a ponytail or bun.
Please no ballet skirts for class. The girls get distracted too easily and play with the skirt rather than pay attention in class.

Only BABY pink is allowed. Please do not buy hot pink leotards or tights.

Boys: White tshirt or tank top, black basketball shorts, black ballet shoes, black tap shoes.

  • Parent: Please dress comfortably for class and wear tennis shoes. You will be moving as well. No heels for Mommies please.
  • Please remember to sign in your child’s name BEFORE class begins at the front desk.

  • To keep the organization of the class, only 1 parent is allowed in the dance studio. All other family members must wait outside in the hallway.
  • Videotaping and Picture Taking
    • Please refrain from videotaping and taking pictures during class time. It is distracting to the students and parents. On the last week of the month, we will allow videotaping and picture taking during routine performances during show n tell.
  • Participation
    • Parents must participate along with the dancers. Listen to the Instructor for cues on when participation is not needed.
  • During class if your child runs away and roams the studio, please do not wait to retrieve her/him. Please do everything in your power to catch your child, so that the other dancers will not follow.
  • Let the Instructor teach the class. Please refrain from additional talking or instructions. The child will need to start listening to the Instructor for directions and cues.
  • Please encourage your child to participate and focus during class.
  • Positive affirmations are great, but keep them to a minimum. Clapping is ok, but leave a great big hug for the end of class.
  • Parents must dance with their child on stage for recital. More information will be given to you when the time comes for recital.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We love the dancers and want to create the most enjoyable atmosphere for class for everyone.
