Extra! Extra! Read all about it… or better yet, dance all about it! Today, we will be bringing newspaper articles and different sections of the newspaper to life through dance and music. “Jayvee Star News” features a cast of talented youth, teens, adults, and guest companies from our dance studio. We are extremely proud of the hard work these Dancers have put forth the past 9 months and we can’t wait to share it with you.
For 9 years, Jayvee Dance Center has provided the community with a positive outlet of artistic expression. With numerous dance classes performing today ranging from Ballet, Jazz, to Hip Hop, both youth and adults have found a place to come together for the same passion: dance. Our annual spring recital continues to provide a platform for the studio and its Dancers and Instructors to express themselves, build self-confidence, and connect with friends that share the love of dance.
There is an immensely amazing feeling when a Dancer performs on stage. It’s indescribable! I grew up dancing and performing and once you get that feeling, you’ll never want to stop performing. It’s such an experience and process to go through as a dancer starting with rehearsals in classes, getting measured for costumes, taking pictures on picture day, and then finally performing on the stage. I know that this is preparing them for the future in anything that they decide to do whether it be a professional dancer or a doctor or a teacher. Hard work, determination, patience - all key values they are learning through this process. It’s newsworthy!
Finally, I want to thank the people that have made this show possible and let them know how grateful I am to have them on our Jayvee team. Joanna Vargas, for teaching me to be a better leader every day, to strive for improvement, and keep my lid high. Saul Vega, thank you for keeping our finances in check and allowing me to run the studio to the best it can be. Roxine and Amanda, my right and left hand. Thank you Universe for placing these two ladies in my life. The best administrative team I’ve worked with to date! Thank you for being awesome. Bridget, Andrea, Beau, Jordan, Marc, and Ralph, for leading our competition and performance teams to success. Thank you for putting in your extra effort. All my Instructors, I send you my deepest gratitude. You are instilling our dancers with self-confidence, diligence, and love. Thank you for sharing your passion and inspiring our Dancers. My work studies: Jasmine, Patricia, and Patricia…thank you for doing the “little” tasks so we can concentrate on the other tasks. To all the studio parents, whether your Dancer takes 1 class a week or 10+ classes a week, I thank you for driving these dancers to class day in and day out. We have amazing dancers because they have amazing parents! Kudos to you! To my boys: Paul, Riley, and Quinn, thank you for being so patient with me. You are the Yin to my Yang. And lastly, to the Dancers…you are the reason why I continue to work hard to make this studio better, you are the reason why I love my job, you are the reason why everyone is here today. I am so proud of you. Leave your hearts on that stage today and show the audience the passion we have for dance.
Thank you for being a part of this special event for all of us. Sit back, relax, and let’s enjoy the paper…
With love,Tu DeVera Studio Manager
